MRCSP held its Annual Meeting on November 18, 2014 at Battelle's headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. The meeting was well attended by more than 80 research partners, project supporters, and other interested stakeholders. Participants in the meeting had a chance to review the numerous research posters presented at the GHGT-12
conference that took place in Austin, Texas earlier this fall and to interact with the project team. The program highlighted the recent progress on the large-scale Development Phase project in Michigan, efforts to further improve the geologic characterization of the nine-state MRCSP region, joint “piggyback” research being conducted in third party wellbores, and research to further characterize the potential mineral resources and role of CCS in helping to enhance oil recovery in the region. Some presentations described specific research tasks in detail while other presentations by stakeholders shared information on other CCS efforts in the region. "These meetings provide an opportunity for people working in CCS in this region to strengthen working relationships as they discuss the research and trends in the region," said MRCSP Program Manager, Darrell Paul, "MRCSP is proud to facilitate these discussions as part of its mission to build a core competency in the region that can help to support our energy future."
