is pleased to announce that the MRCSP Development Phase project in Michigan has just been endorsed by the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum (CSLF). The CSLF endorsement provides the basis for international information sharing on some of the most important projects throughout the world covering all aspects of CCS. The endorsement process included a detailed review by the CSLF Technical Group and approval by Policy Group. Overall, five new projects
were approved at the CSLF’s Fifth Ministerial Meeting in Washington, D.C., and bring the total number of recognized projects
over the past 10 years to nearly 40. All of these projects are aimed at gathering the knowledge and experience required to implement carbon capture and to conduct safe, secure geologic storage on the order of thousands of years.
is a Ministerial-level international climate change initiative that is focused on the development of improved cost-effective technologies for the separation and capture of carbon dioxide (CO₂) for its transport and long-term safe storage. Comprised of 22 country members, the mission of the CSLF is to facilitate the development and deployment of such technologies via collaborative efforts that address key technical, economic, and environmental obstacles. The CSLF will also promote awareness and champion legal, regulatory, financial, and institutional environments conducive to such technologies.
