DOE Announces Start of Full Scale Operations at Industrial CCUS Facility in Texas

June 7, 2013

The Department of Energy recently presided over a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Air Products hydrogen production facility in Port Arthur, Texas. The facility operates two methane steam reformers that capture more than 90% of the CO₂ emissions, an amount that will total roughly one million tons a year. The CO₂ is being transported through Denbury’s Green Pipeline to nearby oil fields for use in CO₂ EOR. Read about the project in a Press Release posted on the new Fossil Energy Website. DOE has also posted a new CCUS Video on Youtube.
