The National Climate Assessment and Development Advisory Committee (NCADAC), a federal advisory committee, was created to oversee the development of the National Climate Assessment (NCA). The NCA is required by the Global Change Research Act of 1990 and is developed by a diverse group of more than 240 authors. The report is available here
and will be out for public comment before submission to the federal government as a final report.
The NCA is used to evaluate the effectiveness of government policies aimed at addressing climate change and to identify economic opportunities that may arise from it. The Executive Summary
briefly describes measured warming, predicted future warming, and the ranges of impacts and choices that face the country. For more on the Global Change Research Program visit their homepage
